Bromsgrove Lib Dems Elect New Chair

6 Dec 2021

Bromsgrove's Liberal Democrats have elected Hagley consultant neurologist and campaigner Dr David Nicholl to succeed outgoing chair of the party Josh Robinson. Josh, who was elected County Councillor for Bromsgrove Central taking the seat from the Conservatives in May, has served as chair for nearly two years and has seen the party grow its support locally.

In recent years the Lib Dems have achieved record levels of support in Bromsgrove, with the party now holding three seats on Bromsgrove District Council and one of Bromsgrove's Worcestershire County Council seats. The Liberal Democrats are also now the largest opposition party on Worcestershire County Council.

Josh commented on his term as chair saying: "It has been a pleasure to chair the Bromsgrove Lib Dems the past two years as we have continued to represent our residents. I know David will continue to grow our local party so we can help more people with issues they may have."

Newly elected chair Dr Nicholl paid tribute to Josh's work and set out his plans for the district: "The increase in our vote share, recent by-election results and the hard work of our councillors, like Josh, are showing how the Liberal Democrats are the real opposition in the Shires, it is vital we build on this success looking to the next local elections."
