Local Lib Dem Councillor Sam Evans has been critical of Worcestershire County Council's road works and is asking the question, "how long does it take to fix a drain cover?"

As part of the County Council's Bromsgrove Route Enhancement Programme (BREP), residents are having to endure a disaster of unwanted road works which has caused issues in particular to residents of the Oakalls and Parklands as works on Regents Park Road continue, despite having meant to complete in October.

Among the chaos of roadworks, and the works changing the layout of the road which has caused issues that didn't exist previously, residents have also had to endure a repeated loud noise from a damaged drain cover all day and night for over a week.

District and County Councillor Sam Evans, who represents the area for the Liberal Democrats has been raising the issue with the BREP team, and despite assurances, the issue still persists.

Councillor Evans commented: "The BREP works will not solve the issues residents face and have only created more issues, which is why myself and other Lib Dem councillors have long opposed these plans. Putting aside the fact that BREP is unwanted and a waste of money, the fact that residents are having to endure this noise all day and night is not on. It begs the question, how long does it take to fix a drain cover?"
