Improvements for Bromsgrove's A38

Plans to improve junctions on the A38 in North Bromsgrove were recently discussed at County Hall.
The upgrades include extra lanes at the New Road junction and Oakhalls roundabout reduce delays.
Local campaigner Siobhan Hughes said: "I am pleased the council has supported these proposals and will now draw up more detailed plans. However, I have always been clear that in the long run I believe Bromsgrove needs a western by-pass to relieve traffic pressure on the town, especially with more new estates planned. The current plans being taken forward are only really a sticking plaster for a much wider problem."
It has been revealed that on average over a twelve hour period, delay accounts for 23% of total journey times on the road network around Bromsgrove's A38 corridor.
The county council has secured £7.5 million from the Local Growth Fund to upgrade sections of the A38.
Bromsgrove Lib Dems are calling on the authority to further investigate the possibility of a western by-pass as a long term solution.
