Lib Dems Will Regenerate Bromsgrove

10 Apr 2023

The Bromsgrove Lib Dems have set out their plans to restore pride in our town centre with a programme of much needed investment.

Martine Reynolds, Lib Dem candidate for Aston Fields said: "We need to revitalise our town centre. The Lib Dems are campaigning to improve our town centre with new street furniture, heritage lighting and new modern bus shelters. We would also modernise car parks with improved lighting and more EV points whilst closing and redeveloping car parks that are out of use."

A Lib Dem led council in Bromsgrove would also offer free parking for blue badge holders and ensure council owned car parks retain cash payment options alongside card.

The Lib Dem plans also include smartening up Spadesbourne Brook and making it into an attractive feature of the town centre.

Sam Evans, Lib Dem candidate for Slideslow added: "To improve the footfall of our evening economy, a Lib Dem led council will reopen Artrix and ensure that a sustainable financial plan is in place to ensure its success. We have a plan to subsidise Artrix £92,000 per year. The Council used to subside Artrix £61,000 per year. Artrix sadly closed shortly after the Conservative run council withdrew the subsidy."

Labour and the Conservatives sadly voted against the Lib Dem plan to save Artrix at a Bromsgrove District Council meeting in February this year. On 4th May residents can cast their vote for the Lib Dem plans to regenerate our town centre and reopen Artrix.
