JUST WHAT THE DOCTORS ORDERED

Senior doctors from several specialisms have written asking all political parties to provide £8 billions more in funding for our NHS. We are proud to tell you that it is only the LIBERAL DEMOCRATS, who have stepped up and you will find this exact sum in our our manifesto. Bromsgrove Liberal Democrats urge our party to make this a condition of entry into ay coalition agreement, having learnt our lessons from 2010. It is party policy and practice to listen to medical staff and to act upon their needs.

LIBERAL DEMOCRAT ACHIEVEMENTS IN GOVERNMENT

Over 1 million new jobs have been created and unemployment is far lower than in 2010. Many new jobs are in the green technology sector and the creative industries, giving real opportunities to our young people. 1.2 million apprenticeships have started and the economy is growing. There is more to do and we shall legislate to make zero hours contracts tied to one employer a thing of the past. Workers have a right to know how much they will earn as a minimum each week/month. We shall continue to enforce payment of the minimum wage by all employers and to push for a universal living wage.

Liberal Democrats Green Policies :GREEN HOMES BILL

Liberal Democrats have announced plans to introduce a new Green Homes Bill which would insulate up to 10 million homes by 2025. Under the plans set out for the next Parliament, homeowners would also be offered a Council Tax discount of at least £100 a year for ten years for making their homes greener. These measures would improve energy efficiency, promote renewable heat and help people benefit from warmer homes and cheaper energy bills. The Green Homes Bill would build on the success of Liberal Democrat policies delivered in government to make homes warmer and more energy efficient. These include legislating for Zero Carbon Homes in new build developments, introducing regulations to ban landlords from renting out energy inefficient homes from 2018, passing a new fuel strategy and making more than one million homes more energy efficient in two years thanks to ECO and the Green Deal. The Bill would build on these achievements and incentivise people to insulate their homes by:
